In many parts of the world and in a variety of cultures, walking barefoot is the normal way of life. Join our community for a Silent Barefoot Walking Meditation at St. John's Conservation Area ( 1.5km loop ).
All fitness levels are welcome, as we will be walking very slowly. PLEASE NOTE that there are a few hills and stairs to navigate along the trail.
Why walk barefoot on the grass/natural earth or "ground" as they say?
The overall health benefits are numerous:
1. strengthening your feet
2. align your sleep/wake cycle
3. reduce oxidative stress.
4. activate your vagus nerve
5. restore your body's electrical equilibrium
6. increase circulation
7. lessen inflammation
8. lessen levels of cortisol
9. direct connection with the Earth Element
***Friends, family and leashed pets are welcome to join. Please kindly register each individual so we have an accurate count of how many people will be attending***.
***PLEASE BRING: 1. backpack. 2. journal and pen***
WE WILL BREAK SILENCE AT THE END OF OUR WALK WITH A SOCIAL, WARM APPLE CIDER, AND A HEALTHY TREAT IN THE POND AREA.
